Cattle ranching

00:00 | We raise cattle since when we lived here in this place. Our grandparents even, before sometimes had [cattle], to sometimes consume meat, milk, cheese; we consume that; and 

00:17 | as I said before, sometimes when an economic resource is required, when there is an ill person in our home, we take out or sell a cow, in this way we have this [economic] resource, income. 

00:28 | In general, in each family there are about two, three, four… well, sometimes the maximum that a family has is 100 cattle heads. 

00:37 | From 100 and below, the families have small cattle, about ten, fifteen, 20. In my case we have about fifteen right now, we had 30 but as I said, there are needs, and sometimes one does not have resources, one sells or slaughters, makes charque (dry meat) and eats, that is, that is life here for us. 

00:59 | But as I mentioned, we are not big businessmen, we are not wholesalers, we only breed for consumption, to have, to feed ourselves.

00:37 | De 100 para abajo las familias tienen ganadito, unas diez, quince, 20. En mi caso tenemos ahorita unas quince, teníamos 30 pero como digo, hay necesidades, y uno a veces no tiene recursos, uno vende o carnea, hace charque y come, o sea, ese es el vivir de acá de nosotros.
