Wildfires and impact on production

00:01 | The fires of 2019 were the most destructive we ever had. It totally left us as if we had just moved in here. 

00:10 | People come to look for cassava, banana, oca, sweet potato, all of that, they may find from older harvests, maybe someone over there who has some cassava. 

00:19 | It [ the fires] ruined everything, we have planted, we have been cultivating the land, just as usual. Let’s say the eclipse of the sun fell on us, last year, it rotted everything… the cassava, everything that is, let’s say, a root on earth to eat, everything was ruined. 

00:37 | All the bananas fell, the worm got into them. We are right now like that, I say, it is embarrassing. 

00:01 | Vino el incendio del 2019 mire, totalmente más rasante que tuvo. Nos dejó totalmente como que si nosotros recién hubieras llegado a vivir aquí. 

00:10 | Viene gente a buscar yuca, plátano, oca, camote, todo eso, pillará será el más viejo, ese que está allá que tiene unas cuentas yucas. 

00:19 | Lo fregó todo, hemos sembrado, hemos venido cultivando la tierra, así como de costumbre. Nos cayó digamos el eclipse de sol, el año pasado, pudrió todo… la yuca, todo lo que da digamos para comer raíz en la tierra, todos lo fregó. 

00:37 | El plátano todo se cayó, le entró el gusano. Estamos ahorita como le digo, da vergüenza.
